Statement from Commissioner Pardo on Marina Walkway Closure

Pedestrian access along the Marina Walkway by the Four Ambassadors has recently been disrupted, as the owners of Vice Marina have locked the area, citing vandalism and ongoing trespassing. This longstanding issue dates back to the tenure of Commissioner Ken Russell, who was a strong advocate for a connected baywalk through the Miami Baywalk Project.

The Four Ambassadors condominium was constructed before the city enacted requirements for public waterfront access. Additionally, the Vice Marina is situated outside city boundaries, making both locations exempt from the city's code mandating public waterfront access. Notably, Vice Marina is currently up for sale.

The Brickell Homeowners Association is committed to advocating for the restoration of pedestrian access to this vital waterfront area. Ensuring public access to our waterfront is crucial for the well-being and enjoyment of our community. We urge city officials to work together to find a solution that reopens this walkway for public use. Would you like to see public access restored, email Commissioner Pardo and City leaders requesting they find a solution.
