Security Alert: Graffiti Vandalism Incident at 1111 SW 1st Ave

In recent days, the community at 1111 SW 1st Ave has faced alarming incidents of graffiti vandalism and threatening phone calls, specifically targeting the north tower entrance. This repeated act of vandalism and verbal threats is not only invasive but also deeply concerning for the safety and well-being of the residents. On the mornings of August 1st and 2nd, the north tower entrance was defaced with graffiti, occurring in the early hours and suggesting the perpetrator is closely observing security operations.

Despite increased security patrols from the building, the vandal struck again during a brief shift change, indicating a premeditated effort to disrupt and intimidate the community. . The peace of the neighbors has been severely disrupted, leaving them feeling unsafe and concerned for their well-being. The police are aware and investigating, but are unable to post more officers on this block.

We urge local authorities, community leaders, and residents to take immediate action to enhance security measures and support the safety of our neighborhood. On September 12th, the City of Miami Commission will hold a crucial vote on the Capital Budget. This vote will determine the allocation of funds for the upcoming fiscal year, impacting various aspects of our community’s infrastructure and safety.

We are requesting an increase in police presence, specifically targeting Brickell’s police force. Given Brickell’s large and growing population, it is essential to bolster our local law enforcement to address safety concerns and maintain public order effectively. Increased police presence, community vigilance, and collective efforts are vital in addressing this threat.
