Recap of the BHA Meeting with Commissioner Pardo

On July 8th, the BHA's Executive Committee met with Commissioner Pardo and his staff. We had a productive discussion, addressing several important topics that affect our community. Here are the key issues we discussed among other issues:

Advocacy Issues

  • Urban Planning and Infrastructure Updates

  • Brickell Key: 40-year recertification bridge

  • Beautification Projects: Brickell Avenue median

  • Sidewalk Maintenance: Old Brickell sidewalks

Transportation and Infrastructure

  • Discussion on the regulation and usage of micromobility vehicles on sidewalks.

  • Potential impacts on pedestrian safety and urban mobility.

Community and Environmental Concerns

  • Homelessness: Strategies to address the issue in Brickell

  • Trash Management: Solutions for overflowing trash cans

  • Noise Control: Managing community noise issues (loud cars, rooftop parties)

Legal and Security Updates

  • Police Presence and increase

  • Integration of CCTV Cameras with condominiums, especially outdoor surveillance

  • Four Ambassadors Seawall: Update on the seawall

Parks, Recreational and Public Space Developments

  • Parks and Green Spaces

  • Status of repair to Tibor Hollo Park (District 3)

The meeting served as an introductory session, during which Commissioner Pardo proposed a follow-up meeting with department leadership to provide a detailed update on some of the agenda items. As usual, we will follow up with you and provide a detailed update.
