Addressing Overflowing Trash Cans in Brickell
Over the weekend, and continuing into today, Brickell residents have expressed concerns about overflowing trash cans in several areas throughout the neighborhood. This ongoing issue not only diminishes the beauty of our community but also raises critical concerns about public health, sanitation, and the efficiency of City of Miami public waste management services.
The Brickell Homeowners Association is closely monitoring the situation and urges residents to report overflowing bins directly to city waste management. At the same time, we are actively asking our city officials to address the underlying causes and advocate for the following solutions:
• Increased Pickup Frequency: Ensuring that high-density and high-traffic areas benefit from more regular trash collection schedules.
• Strategic Placement of Receptacles: Adding additional trash and recycling bins in areas where overflow is a recurring issue.
• Community Awareness and Education: Encouraging responsible waste disposal and recycling habits to alleviate strain on the system.
Keeping Brickell clean, safe, and welcoming is a shared responsibility, and we thank residents for helping us push for meaningful improvements. If you see an overflowing trash receptacle, please report it to 3-1-1 or call 305-960-2801.
For missing or damaged receptacles, you can also contact 3-1-1 or call 305-960-2801 to request a replacement.
Additionally, you can email us at info@brickellhomeowners.org with specific locations or photos of overflowing trash bins, and we will ensure the information is directed to the appropriate channels.
