Safety & Police Presence
350+ sworn officers on-site and surrounding areas each day.
Brickell Coverage: Up to Brickell Ave & 8th Street.
Additional Patrol: 10 officers + 21 additional motor/bike units during egress.
Marine Patrol: 4 dedicated boats hired by Ultra for coastline safety.
Police details assigned to Watson Island, Marine Stadium, and Miami River.
Marine Patrol citations: Double the number issued year-to-date compared to all of 2024.
Safety Walk Services by the Miami DDA
If you’re feeling uncomfortable walking alone during Ultra weekend, the Miami’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Downtown Ambassadors will be offering free Safety Walks from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM on March 28–30 to help you get around safely. To request a safety walk, call 305-415-3896.
Getting to Ultra: Public Transportation Options
Miami-Dade Transit is offering extended Metrorail and Metromover service during Ultra Music Festival, making it easier for festival-goers to reach Bayfront Park.
• Friday & Saturday: Service runs from 5:00 AM until 2:00 AM the next morning
• Sunday: Service runs from 5:00 AM until 12:00 AM (midnight)
Traffic Management
Traffic pattern begins: Thursday, 9 PM → Ends: Monday, 6 AM
Northbound traffic: Will shift into southbound lanes near Intercontinental and return to normal near Bayside.
Southbound traffic: Remains open via NE 2nd Ave and Miami Ave.
Brickell Avenue Closure:
Begins 1 hour before end of show from 5th Street towards Biscayne Blvd
Fri & Sat: 11 PM
Sun: 9 PM
Duration: 60–90 mins (for pedestrian safety and egress)
Bridge coordination in place with Coast Guard to reduce lift times during egress.
Crime & Community Coordination
Part 1 crime is down 24% YTD (compared to -18% last year).
Police will maintain nightlife coverage throughout Brickell.
Commander Valdes credits success to collaboration between police, residents, and businesses.
Residents should expect increased foot traffic & congestion—“pack a little patience.”

Marine Stadium | No large events scheduled this year
Note: Virginia Key event is not city-permitted. It’s approved by the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust. Takes place on the northeastern side of the park, and noise is expected to travel away from Brickell. This event includes both daytime and late-night sessions. The Brickell Homeowners Association is in communication with the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust to help mitigate potential traffic and noise impacts.
Additional Impacts
Kids’ Playground at Bayfront Park: Closed for 11 days during setup and event dates.
Community Traffic Advisory: A visual map will be shared and posted publicly.
Ultra Community Hotline
If you have concerns, the Community Hotline (786-767-7272) is active from March 12 to April 8.
Handled directly by Miami PD, with oversight from Lieutenant Sadler.
