Swire Properties Inc. and City of Miami Fire Department Open Temporary Fire Station at 9 SE 6th St. in Brickell
New station will greatly reduce response times for Brickell emergency situations
On Tuesday, February 6, at 10 am, Swire Properties Inc., in partnership with the City of Miami Fire Department, will officially open a temporary fire station at 9 SE 6th St. in the Brickell neighborhood. Henry Bott, President of Swire Properties Inc., and Joseph F. Zahralban, Fire Chief of the City of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue will host a ceremonial ribbon cutting to commemorate the opening. Swire Properties Inc., headquartered in Miami since 1979, is one of South Florida’s leading international developers and is responsible for notable properties including Brickell City Centre and Brickell Key.
The 9,000-square-foot temporary fire station includes an area to house emergency service vehicles and living quarters that will house firefighters regularly stationed at the site. The station will serve as a critical access point allowing firefighters to provide a wide range of emergency response services including first aid and emergency response assistance. This location will increase the agility of the fire department and greatly reduce the response time for emergency situations in the Brickell area.
The temporary station is part of Swire's commitment to the neighborhood and will ensure that the City of Miami Fire Department can adequately serve the Brickell community. It is opening first, to enable the Fire Department to provide improved service levels as soon as possible. Swire Properties will build a permanent fire station on the site at a later date per agreements with the City of Miami, so the City of Miami Fire Department can continue to serve the Brickell community for years to come.
“We are grateful for our local firefighters who play a critical role in keeping our neighborhood safe and residents sound. Since we began developing on Brickell Key 40 years ago, we have always valued our partnership with the City of Miami and are thrilled to be working closely with them and the Fire Department to enhance the safety of the city we love,” said Henry Bott, President of Swire Properties Inc.
“We are thrilled to welcome this new temporary fire station to the Brickell neighborhood, allowing us to better serve the Miami community as a whole. This crucial addition promises to enhance the fire department's responsiveness and serve thousands of Miami residents,” said Joseph F. Zahralban, Fire Chief of the City of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue.
