11th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Presented by FirstService Residential and Commissioner Eileen Higgins
The holiday season is a special time for coming together and spreading joy. The 11th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting event, presented by FirstService Residential and Commissioner Eileen Higgins, perfectly embodied this spirit of community and celebration. Held on December 7, 2023, at 1814 Brickell Ave., this neighborhood favorite event welcomed families and friends to create lasting memories and enjoy the season's delights.
As soon as attendees arrived, they were greeted with creativity and color. Talented face painters adorned children's faces with fun designs, spreading smiles by South Florida Surprises.
The children were also engaged by the various activity stations such as the pattern blocks mats, reindeer hot chocolate, and snowmen globes. The stations were meant to engage the children with fine motor skills, a memorable keepsake, and fun.
Every holiday gathering has delicious treats, and the event did not disappoint. Attendees enjoyed savoring the delectable offerings from Salty Donuts and Latin Cafe. Latin Cafe has been a fourth-year sponsor of this event, and their partnership in our community is greatly appreciated.
A highlight of the evening was the heartwarming performance by the Southside Choir. Their melodious voices and spirited drum line filled the air with holiday cheer. Under the leadership of Mr. Plater, a longtime instructor at Southside Elementary, the choir captivated the audience, bringing smiles to faces and warmth to hearts.
As expected, Santa Claus was the star of the show. His presence reminded us of the importance of giving, kindness, and the joy of the holiday season.
The 11th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting was made possible by our generous sponsors: FirstService Residential, Commissioner Eileen Higgins, Mayor Francis Suarez, USI Insurance, Altieri Insurance Consultants, Hotwire Communications, City of Miami Police Department, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Christ Fellowship Miami, Latin Cafe, Bristol Tower, and Dont Look Down Productions.
The event offered something for everyone, from face painting and tasty treats to creative crafts and heartwarming music. The sponsors and volunteers deserve recognition for delivering an exceptional experience that united the community and helped celebrate the true meaning of the holidays. As we reflect on the true meaning of the holidays, let us carry the spirit of community and joy into our daily lives, making Brickell an even more vibrant and caring place to call home.
