MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL (December 13, 2022) - The presidential pardoning of the turkey has become an American holiday tradition, but in Miami we like to do things differently. Roasted pig, or lechón, is the centerpiece of any South Florida family’s Christmas feast, and as such, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will host the fifth annual Pig Pardoning Ceremony tradition at Latin Café 2000 Brickell. On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Miami Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will pardon Holly the pig.
Holly will enjoy a new foster home at Aguacate Sanctuary of Love in Miami-Dade County, where there will be ample space to run free much like previous years’ nine (9) rescued pigs. Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary spinach croquetas and delicious homemade Cuban Cafecito during the pig pardoning celebration. Latin Café 2000 is Miami’s leading Cuban restaurant group that serves traditional authentic cuisine to which their most popular holiday catering item includes their delicious lechon.
