We were honored to have Joey Pardon, a representative from Florida Power & Light (FPL), join us. Pardon shared important information about power restoration efforts, emphasizing FPL's commitment to ensuring a swift response and efficient recovery during hurricane events.
Another notable presence was Chief Adrian Plasencia from the City of Miami, who provided essential guidance on disaster preparedness at the municipal level. Chief Plasencia highlighted the city's comprehensive plans and procedures for evacuations, emergency shelters, and response coordination. His insights reassured attendees that the city is well-prepared to safeguard residents' lives and property during hurricanes.
Pete Gomez from Miami Dade County also contributed his expertise to the panel. As a representative of the county, Gomez discussed the measures in place to mitigate flood risks and protect coastal communities.
