FDOT SR 972/SW 13 St/SW 3 Ave/Coral Way and SW 15 Rd Roundabout

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design a roundabout at the intersectionof State Road (SR) 972/SW 13 Street/SW 3 Avenue/Coral Way and SW 15 Road, in Miami-Dade County.  

WORK TO BE PERFORMED: 

• Reconfiguring the existing five-legged intersection into a roundabout

• Constructing a sidewalk around the roundabout

• Adding Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting throughout the intersection

• Upgrading the drainage system

• Providing high emphasis crosswalks with pedestrian buttons at SW 3 Avenue and SW 15 Road

• Upgrading signs and pavement markings

• Eliminating parking

MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC: 

During construction, there will be temporary lane closures during non-peak hours and detours will have effects on traffic. Pedestrian detours will be established with clear signage. Access to adjacent businesses and neighborhoods will be maintained. Parking will be impacted.
