The City of Miami Commission Approves a City-Wide Curfew in addition to a Shelter in Place Order
At last nights, virtual City of Miami Commission Meeting, our city leaders approved a city-wide curfew. The curfew is from 10 p.m to 5 a.m and it begins on Friday. The City of Miami is made up of 5 districts and thus the curfew is only applicable to the City of Miami Residents. To find out if you reside within the city limits, click here.
The following are exceptions made:
Going and coming from work
Medical Emergencies
Walking your dog within 250 feet of your residence
Residents may engage in outdoor recreational activities, but not in those places that have already been closed to the public under the existing emergency order, such as the City of Miami parks. When outdoors exercising, residents must practice social distancing measures at all times.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez has not issued a shelter-in-place order but officially banned public gatherings of more than 10 people in public areas.
Public safety is the responsibilty of everyone. Do your part in preventing the spread of #COVID19. How? By social distancing! If you are around other people, keep 6 feet between you when possible. City of Miami Orders Residents to Shelter in Place
(Miami, FL March 24, 2020) - The City of Miami is ordering all residents to shelter in place and remain at home until further notice, effective today, March 24, 2020 at 11:59 p.m., in order to help halt the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. All non-essential travel within the City of Miami, including by by automobile, public transit, motorcyle, etc., is prohibited until further notice, with the following exceptions:
Travel within the City to seek goods and services from essential retail establishments such as grocery stores and pharmacies
Travel within the City to perform work in support of essential activities and establishments
Travel within the City to deliver essential services to homes, such as repair, landscaping and pool services
Additionally, residents may engage in outdoor recreational activities, but not in those places that have already been closed to the public under the existing emergency order, such as City of Miami parks. When outdoors exercising, residents must practice social distancing measures at all times.

BREAKING NEWS: SCHOOLS WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL APRIL 15TH
As of today, March 17th, 2020 Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered all schools in Florida closed until April 15th due to concerns of COVID-19. All K-12 state testing has also been canceled. You can watch the press conference by clicking here.
