Brickell Ave Walking Tours begin October 5th!

Autumn Walking Tours at Dade Heritage Trust

Brickell’s story is about buildings and its signature hi-rise residential and commercial structures branding it the “Manhattan of the South”.  With a focus on architecture, Dade Heritage Trust presents monthly walking tours detailing the designers, styles and stories of Brickell’s significant structures.

Formulated on the research of architectural consultant, Angela Pedrao, Dade Heritage Trust has created a tour that will enlighten participants about the significant architects and designers who have played a role in the evolution of Brickell Avenue – Miami’s most desirable neighborhood.

Ms. Pedrao has surveyed buildings along Brickell Avenue and Brickell Bay Drive and has researched every aspect of the buildings from concept to contractors, year of construction and the developers’ vision of the neighborhoods’ future.  “The walking tour in Brickell offers the opportunity to appreciate the recent past of architecture. A variety of interpretations of modernity and post-modernity into the most contemporary examples are found. One can marvel at the different iterations and evolution of the tower into the skyscraper, while admiring the increasing complexity and richness these buildings have to offer”, stated Ms. Pedrao.
