Brickell Relevant Issue: The resolution proposes designating Southeast 12th Street from Brickell Avenue to Brickell Bay Drive as "Bad Boys Boulevard" in honor of the "Bad Boys" movie franchise. While recognizing the movie's significance to some, the BHA believes that welcoming such connotations to an already thriving area is inappropriate. Additionally, the BHA is concerned that this designation could cultivate a negative image for the community and send the wrong message to visitors and tourists.

As a priority, the BHA seeks to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. While supporting initiatives that promote and celebrate the city, the BHA does not find this resolution aligning with its values. Thus, urging City Leaders and the City Commission to reconsider the proposal and focus on measures beneficial to the community as a whole such as adding more police to the Brickell PD.
